Why Have Crop Exports Set For Record High After Heavy Rains?

Heavy rains, which were blamed for some food shortages in Australia, have also given crop exports a boost. The country's farmers are predicted to see their most valuable year ever. Agricultural exports are forecast to hit a record $75bn in the year to the end of June, according to the Australian Bureau of Agricultural and Resource Economics (ABARES). What are your thoughts LiveTribers? Why have crop exports set for record high after heavy rains?

More rain means more crops. If farmers can get better prices for their crops by exporting them. then they will export them.

More rain, better crops, I think, so that farmers can afford to send more crops overseas.

We should be thankful for the rain as the next weather cycle will be dry

Seasons are unpredictable and uncontrollable. It must be devastating to lose crops due to weather conditions and it's great when other years can help to make up for losses. Farmers do a wonderful job and I am very grateful to them.

The farmers are great full for the independents outlets as they can sell all products with little marks or odd sizes not like the 2 big supermarkets require.

Over a long period, it shows its about cycles of wetter then dryer. We have to make the most when we do have lots to share, and exporting helps us as a country
