Why Are Victorians Leading The Way On Sustainability In Australia?

Some of Victoria’s brightest minds have come together at Fed Square in September to promote a message of sustainability. Australians may need to rethink the way they dress. The amount of clothes that Australians buy is not needed. As individuals, on average, kilos and kilos of clothes are thrown away each year. So shifting our thinking about how we approach fashion is a really important part of sustainability. What do you think LiveTribers? Why are Victorians leading the way on sustainability in Australia?

I sometimes, nope, I often wonder why Australia in general, seem to think that the country revolves around either Victoria, or NSW? There are other states that off the same and many more different industries as Victoria and NSW...and to be honest, the other states usually do it without such fanfare and often rubbish claims about what they are offering. Why is it that Vicotria is supposedly leading the way for substainablilty in Australia? can you explain this pls as I'm pretty sure the other states are all doing their bit as well, if not more in some cases I would think.

Dunno......Victorians should push for our paper to be made from rags and not wood chips! Wealthy inner city Greens will always hold sway until it interferes with household income and expenses!!!

Isn't Victoria the heart of the rag trade? Sounds like a load of hypocrites to me.

Apparently power bills in Victoria are to rise by up to 35% next year. We are paying very heavily to be sustainable. I am all for sustainable living and doing your bit for the environment. I don't want to pay a huge and increased amount of different taxes to do so. That is what this Victorian Labor party is all about. They want to protect the environment, but want you to pay thousands more every year to do so. Is this really what we want? I don't think so. Remember this when you vote. I have seen their proposals to protect animals by us paying $300 or $400 per year. They have 6 animals they want to protect. So that works out to be $1800 per person per year. Be very careful when you vote. If you vote Labor (in Victoria), Greens or Animal Justice Party, this is what they are trying to do.

The next thing people will be saying that mankind is causing Climate change. Medieval Warming Period, 2 degrees hotter for nearly 900 years, Little Ice Age, so cold that the glaciers came down over the farms in Scandinavian countries and the councils couldn't apply rates to the farms that were under ice, we are coming out of the Little Ice Age. Both were in written recorded history. Don't believe what the influencers are lying to you about, do your own research!

Shows that you shouldn't believe what you read on the internet or listen to experts who are being paid to provide the results that are wanted to prove an untrue fact

Sorry to spoil the Sustainable party, but this is nothing new, they did this in war time, they recycled clothes with hand me downs, they gave neighbours tins of food that they new they wouldn't eat themselves. So i am sorry but this generation is not the innovator of sustainability.
