What Are The Many Wonders of Western Australia?

Stretching across more than 2.5m square kilometres, Western Australia is both vast and beautiful. It’s also home to unique landscapes, experiences, and characters, all waiting to be discovered. The Kimberley is one of Earth’s last true wildernesses and a landscape where age is measured in the billions. Wave Rock (Katte Kich) which is more than 2.7bn years in the making is one of Western Australia’s most recognizable landforms. What do you think LiveTribers? What are the many wonders of Western Australia?

Western Australia - what a great part of Australia. We flew to Broome (a must-do, we loved it) then travelled by cruise ship through the Kimberley region - what an amazing place, the landscape is spectacular, waterfalls, birdlife, sealife, sunsets, loved it all; our cruise ended in Darwin, another beautiful city. How lucky are we to live in Australia.

Stupid question. It's just nature of course. Not just in WA.

I really enjoyed visiting Exmouth with its crystal clear waters good for snorkelling. It has a lighthouse on top of a hill that is good to visit for the views.

When I visited Western Australia, one wonder I found was the wonderful friendly people. They are all willing to help tourists. We were on a cruise ship that was returning to Sydney due to the Covid outbreak. We weren't allowed to dock in Tasmania or Melbourne, even though we had no Covid cases on our ship and had never had Covid cases during our cruise. However, the people of Perth welcomed us with open arms, making us feel very wanted and not like lepers. Everyone in Perth banded together to ensure that we could find our way around the city and enjoy our stay there. I even had morning tea after Mass there with some of the locals and they were wonderful. I have never forgotten this and love the Perth people for looking after us so well.

Went there on holiday last year and loved driving around the coastline. Did surprise me that there wasn't many Kangaroo's around.

I feel the same way about SA. We do have family who went to WA several years ago and they love it there and I doubt they will be coming back to SA to live. I imagine one day we will have to go over to WA for a wedding or other family event and we'll be able to check out some of the attractions then.

Came here to read the comments. I had a friend who moved to WA from NSW, he didn't spend up to eight (8) months before he moved back.

Compared to NSW it's very flat but I love Broome and can't get over how the very red dirt meets the white sand and that beautiful Azure sea. The pearls aren't bad either.

I've been to Wave Rock, swum with dolphins at Monkey Mia, Kalbarri, Pinnacles Desert, Lake Esperance the pink salt lake, and seen the Stromatalites too! Drove on the 90 mile straight and across the Nullarbor Plain, plus stood atop the Great Australian Bite! It all wowed me!
