Guided meditation can be a helpful tool in managing anxiety and stress. It can have a positive impact on mental well-being. Guided meditation takes this a step further by providing a structured, often narrated, experience to help individuals relax and develop a sense of inner calm.

It will work for some people, but not for others.

It probably can help some people and not so much others.

It's good to read that also everyone in the posts had a positive experience. As for me, I have clinical anxiety, I was given tapes -supposed to be the most professionally made- and I couldn't even stand to sit through, my anxiety grew extreme. Then, another therapist told me that no, guided meditation is not for everyone, and in some cases should be avoided. Maybe it's ok for mild cases or self help and personal care. To each their own.

Yes, it can, but taking time out just to breathe slowly and consciously can also effectively relieve stress and anxiety.

Definitely, it can always help or at least improve levels of stress and anxiety, especially when your mind is in something else

It depends. We can find the things we love the most to relax ourselves.

I'm sure in some cases this method would be effective but probably ineffectual in more deep rooted cases.

I've never tried it but know a few people who have and it seemed to help them. I personally don't get that stressed over anything and find that taking time out for myself to relax makes a difference.

I have never tried meditation, however I find the best way to relax or destress comes from a passage in the bible [Be still & know that I am God].May not be the exact quote, however does the trick for me.

It's not for everybody. Each individual must find something that works for them.

I believe guided meditation can be very useful to relieve stress and anxiety. My daughter is a counsellor and recommends this; guidance is important for some people as meditation is not always easy to do alone until experience is gained.

Albert, I agree that guided meditation can be a positive activity especially for those who are overwhelmed by stresses in their life and just don’t know where, or how, to begin. Once they have some comprehension and have experienced the benefits, they can then grow to tailor meditations and reflections to suit their own needs, knowing that the guided meditations are always there for them to refer again should they need.

Personally I don't use guided meditation. I pray to God directly instead and read my Bible. This works very well for me. I also do things I enjoy, eg make mosaics, public speaking, do stickers by number, do crosswords and puzzles, go for walks, catch up with friends and family who are positive, helpful and supportive, listen to music, read and go to concerts, church and things I enjoy. I do believe that people today are more stressed than ever before. This is due to a number of factors including high cost of living and high cost of housing and rent, people in Melbourne enduring 6 lockdowns where they were mainly unable to leave their houses, job insecurity, the lockdowns increasing people's past traumas, high cost of going to doctor, the wars overseas, the high number of natural disasters eg floods and bush fires, and the government reducing mental health services significantly. Sometimes changing a job can help some people. I try to be kind to the people around me and myself.

Yes it 100% can. Although doesn't need to be guided meditation - just sitting quietly and turning inward can be enough to help with anxiety and stress. I do it often.

What generation hasn't been stressed? We are no different to other past generations. I don't think meditation works long term, it's not as if it will solve all your problems. Could help short term, but if you are not happy then you either endure it, or try to change things. We don't have a very resilient population these days. Too many people complaining about their problems.

It may help some but unless stress and chaos is reduced or eliminated the anxiety will no doubt return.

Can guided meditation help with anxiety and stress? Depends on the cause of the stress and if the guiding person is one of the unknown 'Experts' so often referred to by the usual topic starter.
