The world’s most popular chatbot has an alter ego that breaks all the
rules. ChatGPT has been praised for its “powerful capability” to
answer any question you throw at it. And it has proven popular, with the
program reaching its 1 million users’ milestone in a week, surpassing
Instagram's record. What about if you asked it for help with something
illegal or unethical? How would it answer? What do you think LiveTribers? Are
ChatBots good or evil?
I hear a lot of people say that the ChatGPT could be beneficial if it is well
regulated and is used by the right person. But from my experience, people, good
or evil, have the capability of bending the right to the wrong. The best way to
prevent something from going bad is to not letting it exist. For example, we
have law, but the law could not guarantee justice.
It is just like any other new invention that we have had before. It totally
depends on who is using it and how it is being used. As long as it's been
regulated in the correct way. It can do good for all of us.
It depends on the person using it. Are they doing something good or bad? I did
hear a story of a senior manager who did use it to write his speech. He
immediately got sacked. The other managers who were listening to him knew his
speeches were never that good. So the user must use it carefully. Otherwise
using it too much may lead to you losing your job.
I hate using chat bot especially Olive when wanting a query answered about my
online grocery order. So frustrating l like a human interaction for an accurate
speedy response
ChatBots can be helpful but they will also be used for nefarious activities as
well. How is this technology governed and who is held responsible if they are
used to support or facilitate illegal activities? That's a problem that is way
above both my payscale and intellectual capability!!!
If ChatBots can be used for 'good', then it is only a matter of time before they
are used for illegal and unethical means, if not already. While I'm awed by the
amazing advances in technology, I think we've gone too far.
I think also a question is if a chatbot gave you an answer, how would it stand
up in court? Can it be sued?
While fun, i think we are taking AI too far and too fast.
Obviously Chatbots are designed for enterprising drug dealers who have very LOW
IQs!! And other fools who are led by the brain by so called intelligent tech. I
once asked my Grandkids Alexa to self destruct .....and it replied "unable to
comply".....at least it showed some ability for self preservation!!!
I'm not a fan either. One dimensional communication is probably only productive
when it fact or data based. The nuance of real communication can't be captured
here and there is a real danger of misinterpretation.
I still prefer to talk with a real, well-informed, human being. You never know
where the human interaction of the conversation will go... improved knowledge,
connection, humour. I don't mind if that's in person, on the phone or online but
I want this person to be a living, breathing human being.
They are highly entertaining eith the likes of Siri and other voice command
products.
I would definitely enjoy pushing the limits and asking all sorts of questions.
I think Chatbots are difficult to handle. It seems as though you are talking to
a real person until you ask that question that they then say you need to call.
Most people would do that in the first place and get their answer straight away
but they are caught out with the Chatbot coming up on the page. They are are
only good for asking simple and generic questions.
Chatbots are very frustrating to deal with. I have found they are usually unable
to understand, let alone answer any question I might ask them. Just start
employing people again. We are going to make people irrelavent if we continue
down the path of using bots for everyday taska that we would normally do
ourselves.
Very open to manipulation. The answer you get depends on how it has been
programmed and what answers the programmer wants it to give. No trust at all.

All the chatbots I've encountered have been very frustrating. They
'misunderstand' even the simplest phrase. ChatGBT sounds more sophisticated, but
I'd have to use it before giving an informed opinion.
Like everything it can be used for good or evil. When Facebook, et al, started
I'm sure no ine foresaw the horrible trolling that has caused so many suicides
would eventuate from such a simple sort of programme. We reap that which we sow,
so be aware and alert of what may happen in the future.
I much rather have a response from a real person. I never feel comfortable
talking to a chatbot as their responses are generic and with no real answers to
my questions. Why do we need chatbots?
Oh the frustration when even the clearest question is responded with a generic
answer bearing no relation to the question. Then the repeated question to
'rephrase the question'. I get so angry and wonder how many others like me are
frustrated and just want a simple answer from a HUMAN being. If a company won't
connect me with a human or at least provide a phone or email contact, I won't
deal with them any further.
chat bots are what we teach and feed them. if we are kind, they are good, if we
are mean to it, it will be evil. i feel AI is just like a child, what we feed
and program it to be like it will evolve and act that way.
Bots are evil and unnecessary. They take the humanity out of being human, reduce
the need for employment and no matter how clever they are, they are only as
smart as the person who created them (that's us!).
I think as the emergence of AI gets better chatbots are improving. At my
workplace our chatbot on our app and website can answer many questions for you
and where it can’t help it connects you with a human via a phone call if on a
mobile or requesting a call back from a specialist in the area u are enquiring
about.
Of course even the best chatbots aren’t yet as good as a human but they are
making good strides.
I think you can use many non-evil tools to do evil things. It is not the tool's
fault. I think ChatGPT will create a lot of jobs for proof-readers and
fact-checkers. Also, it needs a much catchier name!
ChatGPT has caused controversies because students may think that the 'answers'
and information provided by robots are 'absolutely true'. Other people says
students simply don't need to USE their brains to learn and work out assignments
because the robots do the work for them or steal somebody's work to 'finish' the
works for them.
All depends on whether the robot chatboxes can redirect and connect me with real
human beings when my questions or issues are not one of their pre-set Q &As.
In most of the times, I hate them because they are rigid, unable to recognise
human languages in human words therefore unable to process my calls or text
messages. I am cut off and throw away. In other times, they randomly direct me
to anybody who can pick up the phone but the person may not be the right person
from the right department to handle my questions/issues. Then I will be throw
away like human balls when they redirect me to someone else again.
Chatbox has made me say MANY vulgar languages MANY times in order to get them
transfer me to a REAL human beings or make me complaint officially to the
organisations because they do not provide simple, easy, straightforward humane
ways to communicate. At least 30% of time in any attempt to contact an
organisation has been wasted on the stupid chatbots.
Again a great invention and innovation, not sure if it's a great idea,
automation and robotics are taking over and the greater majority of humans are
embracing all this including chatbots because of convenience and laziness, it's
going to come at a cost for many as too many of our youth are developing an
unhealthy dependence on them.
I've never heard of ChatGPT before so I looked it up and found articles about
some Australian public schools banning the app being used at school because of
concerns that kids might use it to cheat on written assignments.
