One of our greatest challenges as humans is being busy. For most of us our days consist of chores, work and taking care of family and friends which results in us having insanely busy schedules. Although it can be somewhat ‘normal’ to be busy, busyness can often lead to stress and most importantly, us loosing valuable time with what matters. On this week’s blog we share tips on how to UNbusy yourself, which will help improve your quality of life!
Busyness is a choice
Whether we believe it or not, being busy is a choice. Often, we get placed with tasks that are unavoidable but being busy is a decision we make. This means we need to start evaluating our schedules. Take a few minutes to ponder on how your day is and start figuring out what duties are necessary and what can be spaced out to give more room for you to rest.
Allow yourself to rest
One thing we often forget to do is REST! Rest is essential to destressing and giving us more time to focus on ourselves. It’s so important to prioritise yourself and health over daily activities. If you’re not healthy then there’s no point of doing the task! Start scheduling rest time and don’t feel guilty about it!
Ask for help
A lot of us can be stubborn when asking for help, we don’t want to seem weak or inconvenience other people. But some tasks are meant for two people. So ask a friend or family member to help with the smaller tasks and when the time comes, you do the same for them!
Do some Spring cleaning!
More stuff equates to more things to clean, maintain and organise! So take a day to get rid of non-essential items in order to declutter your space. This will make your house more tidy and more manageable in the long run.
Learn to say no
Learning to say no can give you a lot of freedom. Don’t feel bad by saying no! Instead learn to properly evaluate what tasks you should take on and which ones you should reject. Recognise that saying no is not rejecting someone else, it’s about putting your health first.
